Nothing really was planned for the day. David tried to buy the International New York Times but the lady at the newsstand said it wasn't printed that day. I washed a load of dark clothes. I wrote in my blog. We read.
Later in the afternoon we both showered and cleaned up and went to Aux Cepages for a glass of wine. It was still a little gloomy and sprinkling and the wine bar was empty. A few other people came in while we were there but not too many. We were the last customers there and the owner, Michelle, sort of closed up around us. She sweetly offered us an umbrella to use to walk home but we told her we were OK with the hoods on our jackets. What a nice offer, tho.
There is a restaurant here called Fun Doner which recently moved from another location (where the Chinese restaurant is now). It is a newly refinished space and very clean and bright. Rachael told me they used to eat at the old location and it was very good so we decided to try it last night. David really looks happy to finally be getting some dinner.
The man who waited on us, who we think is the owner or one of the owners, spoke a little English so that was helpful. David told him he was a vegetarian and the owner suggested salad, bulgur and french fries so that's what David ordered. He said it was very good!
It was raining pretty hard after dinner but we only had to walk about a half a block home. Yes, we are very well located in Saint Aignan!
We stayed up kind of late for us last night -- 11:30! But we knew we didn't have a lot planned for Friday so we didn't worry about it. Awwwwwww vacation hours!
A few people have told me that they were unable to post any comments. I fooled around with the settings a little bit and I think now anyone can post. Thanks.
