Friday.  Slow day for us.  Not much to report.  Christina came to clean at 2:00.  She does a great job and although she speaks no English, we manage to communicate.  David's French is improving and he always has his French/English dictionary at the ready. Christina is the cleaner Rachael always uses here so we feel very comfortable with her.  She knows the house and she knows the cleaning materials so we feel lucky she has had time to clean for us a couple of times.  I told Rachael we would take as good of care of her house as I do my own and I think we have.

We had a ton of recyclables so we decided to pack them all up and take them to the recycling place and pick up a few things at the Super U.  The weather was wonderful and we didn't even need jackets.  It was mostly sunny and around 70 degrees!  It is such a beautiful walk and I took this picture of the trees changing color on the way.

It was a quick trip to the grocery store as we didn't need much.  When we got home Christina was still cleaning so we took chairs outside and enjoyed the weather.  When she finished cleaning she joined us for awhile.

The afternoon passed quickly and in the evening we went to the usual wine bar for a glass of wine.  We were very happy to be able to sit outside again -- we know the days of doing that are numbered!  Mid-way through our first glass of wine Christina and her husband, Claude, showed up and joined us.  Claude speaks a little English and we think he enjoys it.  It always makes me laugh when the French practice their English on us and we practice our French on them.  Makes for very interesting conversations.  We enjoyed a few glasses of wine with them and they went home for dinner.  David then went inside to settle our bill and learned that Christina had picked up the tab!  So kind but totally unnecessary.  During our conversation they invited us to their home for a drink but didn't specify a day or time.  We would love to do that and hope they will specifically invite us soon.  Here is a picture of the four of us.

For dinner we had lentils doctored up with some fajita sauce.  It was surprisingly good!  We have just as much fun when we have quiet days in Saint Aignan as we do when we go out on adventures!
